PART I: Let’s Talk: Back to School, September 2023
Let’s Talk: Back to School was the first of our four part Let’s Talk webinar series where speakers provided an overview of Medi-Cal dental coverage and dental resources. We also discussed how to stay enrolled with Medi-Cal, when to renew, why renewing Medi-Cal is vital for children in California, and how to get help. Lastly, we discussed the key 2023-24 CA budget investments that support the health and well-being of children and families in health, immigration, economic stability, and food access.

PART II: Let’s Talk: School Safety, October 2023
Let’s Talk: School Safety was the second of our four part Let’s Talk webinar series where our partners provided an overview of The Hope and Heal Fund Framework which includes, cost of gun homicides and suicides, trauma and healing, prevention, interevention, and aftercare. We also discussed gun violence restraining orders (GVRO’s/ERPO) and gun violence emergency response plans for counties in CA. Lastly, we discussed geographic information system GIS maps and The Hope and Heal Funds training, toolkit and resources.

We also covered the upcoming expansion of Medi-Cal to immigrant families, along with how to access Medi-Cal, who should apply, and the importance of renewing your Medi-Cal. Lastly, we covered a basic overview of newcomer educational rights and shared key resources for immigrant students.
